Further secure your Apple ID

21. March 2013 Security 0

Apple is now finally supporting two step verification. This adds an additional layer of security to your Apple ID.

For more info click here.
I highly recommend you enable this security feature.

Note: Two Step verification is currently only available in the US, UK, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand

Update:
A very good example of why you should enable the extra security asap, today’s news headline reads “Major security hole allows Apple passwords to be reset with only email address, date of birth”

If you have set the two step verification and see a 3-day wait message then for now just go into your profile and change your birthday details (remember what fake birthday details you use though just in case you need them later). Change it back after the two step verification has been succesfully implemented.

Apple has disabled the password reset website since it learned of the exploit but it goes to show how important the additional security is.

Update 2:
I am getting a lot of questions on how to get this done, will try to post a step-by-step later tonight.
