The Flash Player 13 update has been found to be problematic for “…Macs created between 2006 and 2008.” Adobe has a fix in testing and promises to have a replacement out early this week. In the meanwhile users with issues are advised to uninstall v13 and revert to v12.0.0.78. Details and download links are at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1447282?tstart=0.

Good tip! I have also heard from several people, and experienced first hand, the installer will freeze or blank out during the download of the latest version. Installing through a newly created user seems to work for the majority of these people.
